The main aim for Cripple Bastards being formed was to keep alive the legendary Italian hardcore spirit of CCM, Negazione, Raw Power, Wretched etc. and to mix it with the fresh extremism of the fastcore / grindcore pioneers releasing records through revolutionary labels like Children of Revolution, Earache, Peaceville and Manic Ears. In my honest opinion this "Variante Alla Morte" CD is exactly what I was expecting, and Cripple Bastards sound even better. A couple of things that stand out to me on this album are the bass which has a great sound in the mix and doesn't get drowned out. Also the atmosphere during the whole album is very dark and you get the feeling this had alot of effort and hate put into the recording perfecly combined with unique creative approach at lyrical writing focusing on human annihilation and existential decay. Released under FETO records in 2008, Definately it's an album I will remember for years to come, and one Cripple Bastards should be proud of.
