The Clash - London Calling

It's a digitally remastered of the third crucial album by the Clash - Britain's premier punkrock act by Sony music that was released in january 2000. The original was released Desember 1979 on CBS records in the UK, and in January 1980 on Epic Records in USA. Containing 19 tracks with perfectly blended of various style of music, "London Calling" maybe had become the most outstanding political rock album by the Clash. Musically, the Clash use London Calling as a springboard away from punk in all directions -- basic rock and roll, mainstream rock, reggae, New Orleans-style rhythm and blues, calypso, even big-production pop -- although the punk ideal always holds sway. Every track is brilliant. Why? Because the guys who made it were fundamentely cool, calm and collected. They could rock. They had funk and flavor because they absorbed reggae, jazz and dub. Lyrically, "London Calling" is record about revolutions, fascists, junkies, race riots, nuclear destruction, gangsters, rude boys, suburban alienation, consumerism, and Montgomery Clift for Gods sake! Yes, everything is just pure Clash style punk with angry lyrics and a thumping rhythm.
Well, in conclusion i would say that "London Calling" is essential for anyone who loves rock and roll and has a sense of history, of where influential music was created.
